Spit up

Yesterday afternoon, Stephen and I were sitting outside. Baley jumped on my lap to get pet. I pet her, I let Stephen pet her. He was doing a good job ruffling her fur and sometimes grabbing her legs (she's a very patient cat). And then, with no warning, Stephen spit up all over Baley and me. It was hilarious. I wish I could have captured the look on Baley's face. I couldn't stop laughing about it. Miraculously none of it got on Stephen, he has excellent aim.

I disagree with Dear Abby

Not that this is exactly news, but still I thought I'd mention it. Here's her advice:
DEAR ABBY: Is it rude or inconsiderate for a person to knit, crochet or piece a quilt while attending a meeting or other gathering? -- CURIOUS IN THE SUNBELT
DEAR CURIOUS: Although I may get some argument about this, I do think it's rude. When someone is attending a meeting or a social gathering, it is considered good manners to give the speaker or other attendees your full attention. And while I expect to hear from readers who say they can "multi-task," to do so sends the wrong message. (from 7/16/08)
I guess she's not a knitter.

Travel

This past week Stephen and I went to Washington DC for a conference and then Pascagoula, MS for my grandmother's birthday. He was an angel to travel with.
On the way back from DC we spent roughly 13 hours in the airport and on planes (it was a huge mess, we had to change airlines and everything), he never really made a peep. He kicked around and giggled and slept. What a wonderful baby.
Then we drove the roughly 8 hours to Mississippi. He slept most of the way, but still slept at night. I couldn't ask for a better baby.

Stephen rolled over!

Stephen rolled from his back to his tummy today. I can't believe it. He had no idea how he got there, but he did :)

4 month visit

We had the four month well-baby visit on Thursday. So here are Stephen's vitals:

14 lbs 14 oz - 50th percentile
42cm head - 45th percentile (or so, I can't remember)
26 inches long - 87th percentile

I would have never said my son would be tall. This must be a temporary growth-spurt fluke :)
