Why?

We have just started the dreaded why phase. Last night we went out and got a Christmas tree.

S: "Mommy, what that man doing my Christmas tree?"

Me: "Cutting off the bottom so it can get water."

S: "Why?"

Me: "So the needles don't fall off."

S: "Why?"

Me: "Because I don't want needles all over the floor."

S: "Why?"

Me: .....

Conversations with 2 year olds

"Mommy, I no like my diaper."

"Well, you need to be potty trained to not wear a diaper."

"I not potty trained."

"Yes, so, you wear a diaper."

"But Mommy, I no like my diaper."

Repeat.

"Hoss"

Stephen runs down the driveway at full-tilt. Nana says "Whoa Hoss! Slow down!" Stephen stops, turns around and says "I no hoss, I just Stephen."

Elephant = Eff-eff

Lion, Tiger, etc = Roar

Koala bear = Plalalala bear

Gorilla = Plalalala

Horse = Neigh

Alligator = Na

Pig = Wee-wee (now a pig)

Dolphin = Dolf-olf

Fish = Sif

Whale = Whale

Bear = Bear

Dog = Dog

Cat = Cat

Bat = Bat

Cow = Cow
